What household plant is easy to take care of?

Everything I touch, dies. I've had a bonsai tree, and it died within a week. I had even bought the right formula stuff for it!

And my love fern? That's dead too, and they don't even require much care!!! I watered it every morning, except that one week when I was away. That coulda done it. Anyways, what plant is the easiest to NOT kill?? please help. my green thumb is like purple.

a cactus...the worse you can do is over water it.
Reply:You could try a (please, forgive my spelling) Philodendron. They're those plants with the heart-shapped leaves. They grow to be veeeerrrrrryyyy long and droopy and can be used to decoratively drape over stuff, so if you don't want your house overrun like that, you can trim the plant back, and it'll still keep growing. Plus, you can take the trimmings and use them to grow more plants. Just water them regularly, like once a day or once a couple days, put them where they get a descent amount of regular light, and leave them alone.

Now, I personally hate these houseplants in particular, as they creep me out terribly (I hate drooping plants/trees). My mom used to keep them around the house, and they scared me and I hated them so much. Plus, they live for years. I had to pour bleach in them repeatedly (for weeks) for them to finally die. Now we don't have them anymore.

Reply:spider plants are real easy to keep. I had them for years and never killed one. They just need watering once a week or so and not much light. You can find books that can give you other ideas. Without knowing your situation it's a little hard to give advice. K-Mart has a lot of nice plants such as desert plants that are also easy to grow. I use Schultz' liquid fertilizer and they do just fine.
Reply:aloe vera plant///its simple to take care of yet pretty and is a healing agent
Reply:i have the same problem--and then i got a peace lily, yeah, it doesn't bloom, but the greenery is really pretty...and i've had it for almost 2 years. jade plants, really anything succulent, are easy for the worst black thumbs...
Reply:aloe vera is pretty easy. most of the cactus varieties are easy too, and very pretty. just make sure that you don't over water them and give them root rot.
Reply:Succulents of most sorts are easy to maintain and are very hard to kill off. I would also suggest the likes of a money tree. It may even give you good fortune!
Reply:fear not 'purple thumbs' it is not your fault that the plants that you chose at first did not thrive-
