I have been losing my mucus plug and my midwife did another fern test and it comes up negative.. She said it's know to have false negatives but never false possetives... my question is, If its my mucus plug wouldn't a Fern test show possetive? It supposedly can show possetive if labor is going to happen within the next two weeks?

Reply:I've never heard of a fern test to determine labor. I lost my mucous plug and went into labor the next day. Some take a week though. I know that doesn't help. Sorry. If you're losing your plug though, then you're losing it. You don't need a ferning test to see the glob of mucous on the toilet tissue. I'm sure you're instincts are right.
Reply:I have no idea what a fern test is but with my 1st pregnancy I went into labor 7 hours after losing my plug and with my 2nd pregnancy I went into labor 10days later. I hope that helps.
