Charlotte's Web: Why do you think Fern could hear all the animals talked whille everybody dont.?

I think fern had a sense of innocence. In the beginning she stops her dad from killing Wilbur, the runt, that shows the degree of her innocence. She is a child, and children are pure and innocent in the best ways possible.

Reply:Because she was still a child. By this, I mean she was physically a child; she had not yet hit puberty. In folklore and mythology there is great power accorded the 'pure' or the 'innocent.' In this day and age many people also believe that children are much more liable to witness psychic phenomena than adults as they have not yet been taught how NOT to believe in things of that nature.
