What is a good outdoor plant for the front of my house?

I recently removed all the bushes from the front of my home. I have a three season porch that now needs some fantastic landscaping in front. The area spends most of the day in sun.......Would ferns be a good idea?

Ferns don't like full sun....they would wither up and die with too much sun.

You could go with daylilies, ornamental grasses, coreopsis, coneflowers, mini butterfly delphinium, phlox, Salvia, sedum,

or even hedge roses.
Reply:a tree
Reply:hydringinas, I think I spell that right anyway they are a pink flower that grows upward so you will need something in the pot they usually come with it and every year I put mine out by the walk way one on each side, and maybe some ferns with stones, that will look cute
Reply:Ferns like damp and shade. For full sun you should plant azaleas and other flowering shrubs. Lavender is easy as are potentilla, hebe and hypericome. Happy planting
Reply:Ferns tend to like shade. Maybe plume or pampas grass would work better than ferns.
