What colors match a dark brown leather couch?

It is a dark brown (modern?) couch. I moved into a horrible paneled living room and hate it. I can not touch the dark paneling at all (per landlord). There is also dark wood trim around all windows and the frame to the dining room. I am looking to find a matching curtain and rug. Some thing that will liven up this cottage feel. I love the moroccon look or asian indian. Any color ideas for the rug and windows? Any cheap decorating ideas. I love nature rocks, odd pieces of wood, etc.... I am also looking for info on how to put a little flat of grass in a box and how to bring in an outdoor fern. Any info on that would be good. Thank you...

What colors match a dark brown leather couch?
Light pink works very well with brown.
Reply:hi,

off white will do good or pale biscuit /biege also go well with dark brown..try it
Reply:I recommend a light green rug with white curtains.
Reply:Bring in black parson tables. Techie brass lamps.

Paint one wall dark red.

Put in a geometric rug with burnt oranges, burgandies, browns, golds in it.

Add exotic Asian art pieces.
Reply:try covering your walls(at least one) with a silk fabric, it can be stapled on to the paneling easily and inconspicuously shades of orange would be best, then use the same fabric or a coordinating one for curtains on an opposite wall.get that done first then go for accent rugs and pillows p.s. a dark brown "modern "couch does not match Moroccan/Indian style
Reply:White would lighten it up.

Blues and orange (orange is a complimentary color of blue).

That's the new color theme, blue and brown. You could use a little orange or peach to add to the room, along with orange.

Scatter a few pillows with these color schemes and get a throw rug it a light color. A lamp with a light shade would go nicely withe room also.

Brown and pink goes together also.
Reply:a dark red would look good with dark brown. and to lighten up a lil bit i would get maybe some off white candles and a couple throw pillows. maybe some golds would look good too.
Reply:Light blue /light turquoise

butter cream/ beige

brown

This three colors compliment each other very well.

Use this colors in fabrics for the curtains and toss pillows

Lighten up your room with pictures in light frames, and light blue/turquoise color vase(s), filled with natural branches(painted or not), and bowls, filled with decorative balls. To bring brightness to your room you can include a few red pieces ( red coral piece, red candle holder, and red silk pillow, or two, for exsample)

Good luck and have fun.
Reply:If you like the Asian look, go with some deep reds and golds.
Reply:tan or orange
Reply:I love this! We just did dark brown in our den and we went with like a burnt orange and some red. Try different colors of the dark browns, oranges and reds. Use only a couple of shades lighter and darker. Its really nice and modern.

Other combinations can be mint green and dark brown, if you live by yourself a lavendar and dark brown can be VERY romantic and inviting, and spa like. or try pink and dark brown like rev run and his wife's bedroom. Good luck!
Reply:Reds and white/off white. You could always get a large fabric panel to hang along the wood paneling to cover it up. It is great for an accent wall. Natural items (wood, rocks and grass) would "pop" off of a white color.
Reply:to me a nice yellow mustard rug with some can different brows colors, and math with beige curtains to inside and a valance yellow mustard on the top
Reply:dark but bold colors would really take you're eye off of the horrible paneling i know hoe you feel i had the same problem!!!
Reply:since i ant se it its kinda hard..

but id say a black

or light brown.

hope this helps.
Reply:Black matches everything, and that would look really nice together. Maybe buy a false firepit, if you know what i mean by false, the ones that dont reallyl ight they just look like it. or if youwant to get a real one installed. contact someone who works outdoors for the outdoor fern.
Reply:cream yellow, purple, red, beig, gold
Reply:dark brown
Reply:creme, and beige ; )
Reply:for thegrass thing get a couple terra cotta window boxes. fil with potting soil and plant wheat or rye grass...or plant them in containers and place them in moroccan styled woven baskets. Buy some large throw pillows.. in reds and oranges browns olives and golds or with a design. If you wanted to hide the paneling maybeyou could buy some curtain rods and place them on top and hangsome sheer curtains of red or gold or even a grass cloth like material to hide the paneling? getsome ferns and put them in urns or pottery and place in descending format by a corner of couch.Liven up the place by getting some Morrocan prints or leaf prints( for the outdoor indoor look)for wall art or if youre creative go to a design site and make your own. You can find alot of stuff at thrift and flea marketsif you use your imagination or bring a photo of your room with you !when you shop!
Reply:Hello,You answered your own question! You might start out with neutral colors on the windows. maybe beige, sand, off white. Then brighten it with the pillows and the rug How about golds ,rusts. put out a nice dish with some stones, put a Indian figurine in the center. You can get bags of stones at craft stores ever dollar stores! find stones on your own, pieces of wood also! You have to look for the things you like! I found a wonderful crystal goblet at a salvation army thrift shop. I love a desk that i found there also. ask questions when you shop! Good Luck!
Reply:you could use lots of different colors.just try to stay away from red, dark blues, and black.you might also try covering the wall with fabric.to change color you can tale it down when ya move. i have a wall in my house i hate the wall paper but i collect coca cola and have put coca cola beach towels over most of it,don't be afraid to try different things,to get what you like, and what works for you!
