Does anyone know if I ruined my Boston Ferns?

I brought them inside for the fall/winter and I clipped them. Are they going to grow out fuller and healthier or did I ruin them?

Does anyone know if I ruined my Boston Ferns?
If possible, locate them in a cool bedroom (50 to 55 degrees is ideal) with a south-facing window. Then, put down a sheet to catch the fallen fronds and hope for a short winter.

Boston ferns can be kept fairly dry during the winter, but as the days begin to lengthen in February, start watering a bit more as new fronds appear. Avoid the temptation of putting the plants in an ever-larger pot, because they will eventually get too large to accommodate.
Reply:Hi, And,OMG! You killed them! I'm only fooling. You can't hurt them. If they are too big, you can split then into Fourths, or what ever you want, and they'll still grow. Your supposed to trim all the dried or dead fronds from them, and feed them twice a year, but sounds like your doing just fine. I'd bring mine inside, but they are 5 ft. across.with 10 ft. fronds. You could use them as a roof for a fort if wanted to have a fort. I did trim and split them a couple of years ago, and the only thing that did was, give me more ferns that are twice as big! Their happy though,so out on the patio is where they have to stay! Bye
Reply:You did not do anything wrong. Just make sure they are watered and kept moist, not sodden. Give them a mist every once in awhile and also put them outside on a mild day every so often. They like the fresh air and sunshine once in awhile.
Reply:Boston ferns are pretty much bulletproof. My wife is horrible at keeping plants alive, but she is doing just fine with ferns in her place of work. They are still going strong, growing like crazy. The trick is to give them loads --And I do mean loads-- of water, and lots of sunlight.
Reply:CALL A NURSARY
Reply:Your ferns are just fine. Mine have outgrown the 10-inch pot they are in. I plan to divide them up this coming spring and repot. When they are filled out and nice and lush, I'll have lovely gifts to give away to friends.
Reply:They should be ok. Just keep them watered.
