Can the Silver Ferns win the World Championship without Temepara George in the team?

Did Ruth Aitken make a mistake by not picking Temepara George for the Silver Ferns squad? I think Laura Langman deserves her place, but George adds some strength and depth (and experience) to the squad. With potential clashes against Jamaica and Australia, that experience could be invaluable.

I think the biggest problem area for the Ferns is the GOAL ATTACK

Reply:Yes they can, even though Temepara is not there through personal reasons, it could have been that she is not there through injury and they would then have to cover this = so YES THEY CAN.
Reply:Of course they can. what kinda question is that. They can win without anyone in there, they just need a fit team that can gel. I dont think she would have gelled if she was in there. A team is a team not a person.
Reply:i'm sorry to say but do not think nz will win the world up. i am at the courts everday and have watched all the top 8 and have to say england and oz have the best chances. Remember that england beat nz earlier this year and australia continously will against them. good luck to all BUT GO ENGLAND
Reply:Yes NZ can win without Temepara George. However, if NZ's defence circle doesnt come up with anything better than we have viewed on TV then we can go down the plug hole quite easily. We have strong mid-court and attacking players plus great shooters in place, but unlike the Aust defence line our defence are lacking aggression to stop the shots.



We have a good defense but not effective enough for the top

line netball.
Reply:This question is negative and ridiculous. I think that you need to get over Temepara not being in the team , its semi finals tomorrow night. Have you read this weeks New Idea ? She states that she made the right decision by not being available for the Silver Ferns because of love. If Laura wasn't Centre she would be WD . Julie Seymour is in fantastic shape. Give our girls credit and stop with the what if. An individual does not make a team , and if Temepara really wanted to play , she would be there.

Reply:Lets remember, Temepara made herself unavailable for the Worlds.... which she must be commended on. However, after watching the first 2 days of netball I believe the Ferns have come a long way since the English %26amp; Jamaican tests and believe the Ferns can win the World Championship, but it all comes down to how much more Australia wants it....
