About indoor Fern Plant Deseases?
The "black moles " are not pests. They are the spores , reproductive bodies, of the fern.
Reply:Probably spore casings, and not a problem at all.

HOWEVER, you can get hard scale insects on ferns as well, and they look quite similar to the spore casings. The spores have sort of a fuzzy look to them, the scales will be smooth.

A scale infestation isn't all that common in boston ferns, but it does occur on some of the polypodium ferns.
Reply:These are spores, this is how a fern reproduces, ferns have no seed, if you lay a white fabric under the leaves the spores will fall off, place them on top of good sterile soil, keep the soil moist and in light and in about 5 month to one year you'll have baby ferns.
