What is your favorite cultural delicacy in foods?

Where I am from, we love smoked fish strips, dry fish, dried moose strips and dried seal meat dipped in salt and seal oil, Fern buds made in with berries as Eskimo Icecream, and so many other food that we prepare and live off the land and sea, lakes and rivers. I would say more but I just want to see what you all say and what you like and maybe even if you tried at all any of what I stated. I am an Alaskan half Yupik/Aleut Indian and white.

I absolutely love smoked salmon or mountain trout. I think what you are calling dried meat, we call it beef or venison jerky. I love Greek food. The Greeks cook with a lot of lamb. Lamb Stew with potato's, carrots, onion, celery and seasoning. Skibob's, meat ball's wrapped in grape leaves. They make spinach pita and cheese pita. They make the most wonderful sweets on earth. I was raised on Greek food. I like Italian food also. Lasagna with Greek salad and garlic bread. We have watched many documentaries on Alaska. It's beautiful country. One of my favorite movies is Mystery Alaska. It's very funny and not for children but it's entertaining.
Reply:Sushi. I could eat freshly prepared, high quality sushi for days on end and not get tired of it!
Reply:i am a sicilian american, my mom makes the best pizza in the whole wide world. we never go to a pizzaria, it is not the same. we eat cardoon, which is the outer stalks of the artichoke plant. we eat pasta sarda on st. joseph's day. that is a marcaroni sauce made with sardines. this is traditonal for sicily, an island off the coast of italy.
Reply:SWEET POTATO PIE !!!
