It's going to be hot this week- do I need to bring my plants indoors?

Triple digits all week. I have a fern, a couple succulents (Jade Tree etc.) a cypress tree and a perennial planter. What you do thinK?

Ferns should already be in a shaded spot, if not I would try to shade it with a parasol or something similar. Make sure you water thoroughly morning and night, you could also spray the foiliage at the coolest time of day, never water during the heat of the day and always ensure that the water is penetrating down to the roots. With regard to cypress trees, these have very deep roots so they will be fine.
Reply:Plants live outside! Put them in there most natural setting.. IE fern=shade etc. Water them well in the morning.
Reply:Keep the jade plants out, with morning sun.

The cypress needs its roots in shade and the fern should be misted several times a day.

The perennial planter will be fine with a little extra water very early in the morning. If you live in a humid area, watch for over watering--that would be just as bad as letting them dry out.

Hot fun in the Summertime!
Reply:Keep them in the shade and well watered. No need for indoors! I think air conditioning would be worse than heat(pulls out humidity) especially the fern!

If you can, you can put them on the east side to allow them morning sun only( a little cooler )
Reply:I think it depends if they're outdoor plants and will be able to take the heat. Usually succulents are just find in hot temps, cause it's like a desert. Just read up on our plants
Reply:no just shaded
Reply:If you can, it may not hurt. Or make sure you keep them WELL watered. If you can't bring them in, can you set up some shade? Plants are A LOT hardier than you may expect... providing they get enough water.
Reply:i'd bring in the smaller potted plants... and the larger i'd water more frequently... potted plants dry out VERY quick when it's hot
Reply:Just slip,slap, slop them, they'll be fine.
Reply:no... leave it out, just water it
