How to start a simple planted tank?

i already have a setup aquarium with three fish it's 20 gallons i just want plants like java fern etc

How to start a simple planted tank?
well really the best thing to do is to go to a local aquarist shop and ask them what plants will work with your fish %26amp; lighting so find out how many watts your bulbs are.

You can also ask about fertilizer, it helps the plants grow and keep helthy

hope this helps and good luck
Reply:If you don't have a lot of light, I'd suggest sticking to plants like java fern, java moss, and anubias. For java fern, you'll need to attach it to a piece of driftwood--you can use thread for this. JF doesn't have "normal" roots, and thus you can't just plant it in the substrate. It will attach to your driftwood instead.

Java moss can just be thrown in the tank as a floating clump, or you can attach that to driftwood as well.

Anubias also needs to be attached to driftwood.

These are all pretty hardy plants, and should do well with a normal aquarium light and a little fertilizer.
Reply:Buy the plants and put them in the gravel.
