What is the sad part in the end about where the red fern grows?
oh i dont want ruin it for you but im tempted......uhhhhh ur supposed to do it yourself but oh well. in the end old dan gets injured by a mountain lion while he is trying to protect billy and the wounds are so bad that he dies. little ann is hurt not only physically but also emotionaly because of old dans death and after awhile she stops eating and grows sick. the family understands her pain and she dies one day. they bury the two dogs right next to eachother and then the family moves. while they are getiing in the car to leave billy runs to the dogs' graves and sees that a red fern has grown in between the graves. this is good because there was a legend that two little indian kids got trapped in the woods where billy lives and one day died and to respect them a red fern grew in betweeen their graves.
Reply:The dogs died in the book
Reply:the doggies die
Reply:the sad part is where the boy has to 1st bury big dan after he gets hurt hunting and then has to bury little ann because she got sick after dan died. she wuz sick mostly depression due to the loss od dan. when he burries ann he sees that over the grave grows a red fern meaning that angels are watching over them and the dogs. i cried when i read the book. i luv it though. it is sad because he realizes that not only did he loose his dogs but that angels are watching over and that they r in a better place.
Reply:Finish the book...its worth it!! Yahoo Answers does not qualify as Cliff Notes.
