The united Anteridium and Arcxhegonium form a Gametophyte (Haploid).This develops to a zygote then to a developing sporophyte.A sporophyte (Diploid) then undergoes meiosis and forms spores.This spores not turn ihto Archegonium and Antheridium by mitosis.
