The "Boston Fern" isn't from Boston. It can take temperatures around freezing if it is kept out of the frost. It is best if it doens't get below 40 deg F.

How much cold can a boston fern take?
I am about 10 miles from Boston right now and it is 1 degree F so I would say it can take a lot of cold.
