What is your favorite book/what bookmakes you cry no matter how many times you read it?

EVERY time I read Where the Red Fern Grows, I cry SO hard. And I love to read so I have a bunch of favorite book, but some of my favorite favorites are the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer, Where the Red Fern Grows like I said, Narnia, books by Shannon Hale, and Eragon. And a ton of other stuff. But I want to hear about what you like!

What is your favorite book/what bookmakes you cry no matter how many times you read it?

Reply:The end of Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell gets me every time.

The scene with Beth in Little Women by Louisa May Alcott always makes me cry.

Some of the stories in James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small series make me cry every time I read them.

Black Beauty by Anna Sewell makes me cry in parts.

There are several scenes in the Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery that make me cry every single time I read the books.

There are more, but these are the first that came to mind.

BTW: My favorite novel is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, but it doesn't make me cry. You reminded me, though: some of the parts in The Chronicles of Narnia series always choke me up, too (like the albatross circling Lucy's head and whispering "courage, dear heart" in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader).

Reply:My favorite [series of] books is Narnia. They make me happy when I read them.

I recently read "Bridge to Terebithia" for the first time for a children's lit class I'm in. I balled at the end of it! Tears were seriously streaming down my face. I've never read a book that made me cry before. Then, when we were discussing it in class, I almost lost it again!
