What is probably the best book or books you have read recently or in the past?

I have read so many book I can't remember. Although I have where the red fern grows and the outsiders in my heart.

Thanks!

What is probably the best book or books you have read recently or in the past?
By far, Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. The Twilight series rocks!
Reply:I just finished Kaffir Boy (a memoir) by Mark Mathabane. It was without a doubt one of the most amazing books I've read in a long time. So good, in fact I went to the library to get Miriam's Song, (another of his books) the very next day.
Reply:Just recently Robert Alexander's ' The Kitchen Boy' and Rasputin's Daughter. Then the Year of Magical Thinking. Then also ' Grayson'
Reply:harry potter series %26amp; banana yoshimoto's novels.
Reply:THE THREE LITTLE PIGS
Reply:I love The Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker, and Safely Home by Randy Alcorn; but of course there's no beating Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen!!!
Reply:Obviously the Christian Bible being the first choice, some other favorites are "The Road Less Traveled" by M. Scott Peck, M.D. (1978), as well as all his other books, most decidedly "People of the Lie: The Hope for Healing Human Evil", (1983). He was a great psychiatrist and sorely missed. I also alway enjoyed "Travels with Charley" by John Steinbeck, and "Walden" (often referred to as "Walden Pond") by Henry David Thoreau, and I enjoyed "The Hunt for Red October" by Tom Clancy. I found "The Politically Incorrect Guide (PIG) to the South, and Why It Will Rise Again" to be very entertaining and very factual. I could go on forever, but, there's not room or time for that. I enjoy biographies such as the ones I have read on President Dwight David Eisenhower, whose real name, by the way, is David Dwight Eisenhower, as written in a family Bible. The name got reversed by accident and stuck forever. Biographies on President John Adams, Adolf Hitler, President Richard M. Nixon (especially the one by Jonathan Aitken, former member of the British Parliament and Minister of State for Defense, and one who worked very closely with President Nixon), (1993), and a biography of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. Oh well. I love some of the "classics" and biographies written by truly informed individuals such as Mr. Aitken who wrote of President Nixon. I truly enjoyed biographies on Pope John XXIII, and Pope John Paul II, and the current Pope, Pope Benedict XVI. But then, I said there wasn't time or space to cover them all. God Bless you.
Reply:I'm on the 2nd Harry Potter right now. Love Him~~
Reply:Harry Truman by David McCullough. Just an amazing read.
Reply:I love "The Acts of King Arthur and His Noble Knights", by John Steinbeck. Steinbeck is, of course, a very well known author but this book of his seems to be virtualy unknown. Maybe that's partly because it's unfinished. He started writing it, got about half way through, then got sidetracked and eventually died before ever getting back to it. Which sucks because the story starts to build up all this sexual tension between Lacelot and Guinevere and then they suddenly have this harcore passionate, secret kiss. And then the book just ends. And it's like "WHAT???? THats it???" But its a REALLY good book, none the less. At least in my opinion.
Reply:Well I have to put the bible right up at the top. But some other books I have like recently are the Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker; the Harry Potter books; almost anything by Margaret Petersen Haddix; hmmmm....I'm sure there are lots more but I can't think of them right now. I read about three books a week.
Reply:The Power Of Positive Thinking Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. It was on the New York Times best sellers list for 20 years.
Reply:Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean and Tide of Terror.
Reply:Right now, I'm a little more than half way through Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice which I am liking a lot. I also love I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith and Nothing Like the Sun by Anthony Burgess.
Reply:I'll have to say the Harry Potter series. :))

The plot, the setting.. The entire story. It's just written in the manner that makes your mind work and entertains you at the same time. I've been a fan since the first book came out.. I was one of the few people who actually bought the book back before there was still no publicity about it. Reading it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was around 10 or 11 back then. And now that I'm eighteen and the last installment has been released, I can say that I'm a Harry Potter child by heart. Growing up with him is one of the best experiences in life. :))
