What are the advantages of the majority of the fern life cycle being sporophyte or gameotype?
In ferns sporohytic generation is dominant and well developed . ( Not in majority but in all ferns ).
The advantage is =
The sporophytic generation is well adapted to dry and land life . Moreover they can multiply by asexual or vegetative methods .
This is the reason why they have spread far and wide .
