good book, two good movies came from the book, i liked the original movie better. These redbones in the first movie came from sierra hills redbones if I am not mistaken( please don't quote me on that as i am not certain). Redbones are a very instinctive hunting hound but can also make great pets, they have the drive to please the owner and oh what a sweet voice they have along with a very pretty look. A great book. Ole Dan and lil Ann and Billy out in the Ozarks.

Reply:Yes, I have read it and love it, though caution, there are spoilers, I cant believe the grandpa dies!!!!!! Love the dogs though, both coonhounds.

Reply:Have read the book and have both DvDs, very good if you like dog or animal stores,The storer is about a boy raising 2 redbone hounds to hunt coons, and all the fun the boy and his hounds have, get the 2 dvds at clombia house. Enjoy
Reply:its a classic. it is about a boy who wants some hunting dogs. he saves up the money and eventually gets the dogs. it is about the hunts they have together. but i am not telling the ending
Reply:Yeah I've read it about 5 years ago. Great book very emotional. About the farmboy who saves up for hunting dogs for 2 years then finally gets them and becomes the best hunting team in the area But at the end the dogs die i almost cried then. ( I am a guy)

It was sad, but...If I remember correctly, it was about how strong love is, and the only time a red fern grows is when two people/animals love each-other to death. (Literaly there...)

Reply:that is the story about those 2 dogs correct... if so all i remember is the male dog spilling the innards of i think the wolf or fox. It was a good book.
