Do we care that Fern Britton lied?
I think it′s outrageous.I′ve gone right off the woman.
She stated that it was all due to exercise and diet and she lied through her teeth!
Millions of people (me included) admired her efforts thinking "good on her" .She′s a public figure and people take notice of what she says. She appeared in magazines promoting healthy living......and there she was resorting to MAJOR SURGERY to control her appetite!!
She looks great....but this trend towards gastric band surgery worries me. It′s increasing year by year. Will today′s obese children see this as the solution to their diet problems in the future?
Reply:I don't care how she did it, she looks fab. Even if she had a gastric band she didn't sit on her bum all day eating tiny portions of chocolate - it must still take hard work to exercise hard enough to lose weight and tone up.
She can't do right for doing wrong, if she stays fat she is something to be gawped at on the beach, if she slims down 'she cheated'.
I am sick of weight being an issue, it's about the only thing left to ridicule someone about according to the papers. I'd like to see some of these newpaper editors having their private moments splashed across the paper and ridiculed, see how they like it. Obviously there was no real news that day.
(Or Posh hasn't bought a new handbag for a NOTW exclusive)
Reply:It's absolutely no-ones business. How is it that as soon as a woman puts on weight or loses it, her body and lifestyle become public property and apparently everyone's free to tell her what she should and shouldn't have done? Ridiculous, and fair play to Fern for being a strong, fabulous, fun woman at any size Hx
Reply:I can understand why she felt compelled to lose weight, and why perhaps she ended up doing the drastic gastric way, maybe she was eating healthily and exercising but she just reached a certain weight and couldn't lose anymore.
I've seen posts on here by dave s for one, laughing at her size and making a big deal of it, I imagine she heard similar outside.
We're the ones who turn them into media and TV stars, then we're the ones who laugh and become judgemental when we see imperfections.
Reply:The thing is that people in the media across the board seems to think they can say things that are not true - whether it be Ant %26amp; Dec and various phone in fiascos or just Fern and her diet - it seems to be a dangerous development. They are supposed to give us the facts not make them up.
Reply:It doesn't bother me at all, how she lost weight is her own business. She didn't really lie though, she never denied having a gastric band she just never mentioned it until now. Her weight loss still required her to live more healthily even with the band. And it's worked wonders, she looks great.
Reply:I'd noticed she'd lost weight recently but didn't know how so it didn't bother me. I don't think she should've lied though, at all. She should know celebrities can't have secrets.
What puzzles me is why couldn't her husband help her? He's a chef, and I'm sure he can make her dishes that are tasty AND healthy!
Reply:Who said she lied - she just didn't tell us - and what's it got to do with anybody else AT ALL - ESPECIALLY readers of the News of the screws! Anyway, good luck to her - at least she DID something about her weight - well done TO HER ! ! !
Reply:yes a lot of young people like and watch her on TV .they take in what she says.she is so bubbly with it and kids like that.so she isn't setting a goo example is she.
Reply:I don't particularly care. Dont know why she bothered lying though, especially after Anne Diamond was found out.
I saw Fern on telly last night for the first time in ages and thought she looked amazing
Reply:Well it appears that whatever TV tells us is fact is usually fiction - at least the TV is getting fined now.
Newspapers gave up reporting facts long ago and now just tell us what they want us to believe!!!
Reply:No I love Fern. She was promoting healthy eating and excercise.............. even if she did have an operation to help she still eats healthily and excercises.
Reply:No we shouldn't care, it's not our business how she lost the weight. I would forgive Fern anything as she is one of the nicest people on television.
Reply:not really bothered doesn't really effect any of our lifes just proves underneath that band shes still a fatty
oh im nasty (not)
shes sending out the wrong message to young women
Reply:It's her own business ultimately, but why she was so closed about it I don't understand.
Reply:No, I think it's her own business. I can't believe that the media are even covering this. Surely there are more news worthy events in the world?
Reply:ok as long as she is not lying about diet and exercise while she gets the lipo, just be honest and say she had lipo.
Reply:nope
bt i understand y she lied
a lot of celebs are under so much pressure 2 b a certain weight
x
Reply:I don't give a s-ite what she stuffs down her throat!.....her choice......but if she asked me if she looked fat i would say no you look fooking enormous
Reply:Let her get on with it, theres more important things to be getting on with.
Reply:It is her business no one ,Else's.What a woman.
Reply:not bothered.
Reply:good god woman,
i`m eating me dinner.
Reply:No. The Newspaper ,Yes the News Of The World ,was reading it today ,Makes a big deal of it. What noobs.
Reply:no we don't care
its ot nothing to do with the public anyway!
Reply:i dont care its her life she can do what ever she likes !
Reply:no, i do not......i'm not even sure she did , she just let people assume things, still who cares? not me!
Reply:not bothered. she might be slimmer but shes still ugly
